SHRINGAR is a concept of IMAN DAS,a classical fusion band mixing raagas with pop,ghazals,modern songs,thumries with dance.A quest for eternal melodies, Shringar is one of the nine rasas,usually translated as erotic love or as attraction or beauty.''Rasa'' means flavour,and the theory of the Rasa is the primary concept behind classical indian arts including music,dance,poetry & even sculpture.Shringar is out to prove that all genres of music are under one sky & music has no boundaries.
Iman Das is considered to be one of the finest exponents of Patiala Gharana..A senior disciple of Pt.Ajoy Chakraborty,Pt.Shantanu Bhattacharyya & Pt.Kalyan Basu,he is a high graded artist of All India Radio & Doordarshan.A rare blend of talent & riyaz iman is equally sublime in kheyal & also in lighter genres like thumri,bhajans,ghazals etc.A voice containing three & a half octaves,iman at 34 is conquering the world with his awe inspiring raagsangeet presentations & the rarest of gifts for today's classical connouissers,punjabi ang thumries,considered to be the forte of his gharana.A firm believer in Divine & destiny,iman believes indian classical music is the highest form of art & is synonymus to meditation.Shringar is the brainchild of iman,a unique way of popularising the age old art form among the youth of today.He has performed all over India including Delhi,Mumbai,Bangalore,Chennai,Pondicherry,Nainital,Chandigarh & kolkata etc.& abroad in UK,Germany,France,Holland,Austria,Belgium etc.
